ABOUT FIRST STEP

FIRST STEP is a registered Society by Govt.of.Andhra Pradesh in India, under societies (registration Act XXXV of 2001) which was initiated in the year 2009 as an innovative parternership between Govt. and Civil Society has been incorporated with the aim to facilitate the enhancement of knowledge. Whatever the need FIRST STEP facilitates it all. It does so by constantly providing high quality learning aides and information resources with total commitment to training.

VISION

The need for giving emphasis on the Skill Development, especially for the less educated, poor and out of school youth has been highlighted in various forums. The skill level and educational attainment of the work force determines the productivity, income levels as well as the adaptability of the working class in changing environment. Large percentage of population in India is living below poverty line. One of the important causes is lower percentage of skilled persons in the workforce

AIMS OF FIRST STEP

• To train up in various skill development programs according to the changing technology in which everybody can get the employment through good innovative skills.
• Implementing innovative concepts and projects by using the latest updates technology and science to reach the fruits for all level people.
• To give proper guidance to the students in selecting the right career at right time at place.
• To make awareness among the people about income generation opportunities rising from time to time in various fields/ sectors.
• To expand services to the poor rural village unemployed youth and empower the women in self sustaining.
• Enhancing individual’s employability (wage/ self employment) and ability to adapt to changing technologies and labor market demands.
• Improving productivity and living standards of the people.

OBJECTIVES OF FIRST STEP

The main objective of the First Society for Training & Employment Programs is to render continuous assistance to individuals in preparing to choose, change and adjust in occupational life; create & generate awareness and appreciation of the realities of the Employment Market; collaborate or co-operate with other agencies in the field to stimulate and promote joint efforts to enhance their employability.

• Create opportunities for all to acquire skills throughout life, and especially for youth, women and disadvantaged groups.
• Promote commitment by all stakeholders to own skill development initiatives.
• Develop a high-quality skilled workforce/entrepreneur relevant to current and emerging employment market needs.
• Enable the establishment of flexible delivery mechanisms that respond to the characteristics of a wide range of needs stakeholders.

EMPLOYMENT MARKET INFORMATION PROGRAMME

• to provide information at short intervals about the structure of employment in the public and private sectors at the area, state and national levels and also to monitor the changes in the level of employment
• To present occupational composition and educational profile of employees in the public and private sector establishments.
• To identify the occupations which are characteristic to a given industry?
• To assess the manpower shortages in various industries and in various occupations in the organized sector.

• Separate cell has been established with one full time staff incharge for placement
